International Day of Peace 2012

Peace Day: Individuals Celebrating Peace

This year, the International Day of Peace 2012 is on Friday September 21st. The International Day of Peace, a.k.a. "Peace Day" provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations and nations to create practical acts of peace on a shared date.
In 2002 the General Assembly officially declared September 21st as the permanent date for the International Day of Peace.

Special activities and celebrations will take place all across the world over the 2012 Peace Day Weekend, including festivals, concerts, a global Peace Wave with moments of silence at noon in every time zone, and much more. Whether it's through music, sports, dance or art, Peace Day is about spreading peace your way. Whatever action you take to mark this day is up to you.

Here at Claremorris Community Radio, we will be celebrating Peace Day by broadcasting a very special Peace Day programme on Friday September 21st at 5pm.

Tune in to 94.6fm or listen online at www.claremorriscommunityradio.ie to help celebrate this annual  event!
