Put your knowledge to the test for Claremorris Community Radio!

Claremorris Community Radio to host fundraising table quiz in The Dalton Inn.

A table quiz will be held at The Dalton Inn, Claremorris on Friday November 25th at 8.30pm to raise some much needed funds for Claremorris Community Radio.

Quizmaster on the night will be John Nolan, host of the very popular “After the Fact” quiz programme on Claremorris Community Radio 94.6FM.

The table quiz will feature some great prizes for the winners, with spot prizes and a fabulous raffle on the night. Tables of four cost €40 and can be booked in advance by calling the radio station on 094-9373737 or by emailing: admin@claremorriscommunityradio.ie.

'My Country and Me' to be broadcast on Claremorris Community Radio

New Documentary Series Celebrating Multicultural Mayo

An exciting new series which looks at the many different cultures that make up our community today will begin on Claremorris Community Radio 94.6FM next Friday 25th November at 1pm. 
 
'My Country & Me' is a series of eight 20-minute programmes featuring interviews with current Mayo residents who come from Germany, Spain, Holland, Russia, Sierra Leone, Cameroon, Pakistan and South Africa, and explores the cultures and traditions of these countries.

'My Country and Me' was funded by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland through it's Sound & Vision scheme and produced by Claremorris Community Radio staff over the past number of months. 

The programmes will be repeated each Monday at 8pm and the last programmes in the series will be aired on Friday 16th December.

Claremorris Community Radio would like to thank all of the contributors to this programme who gave so generously of their time in coming in to give fascinating insights into their cultural backgrounds.

Tune in! "The Thin Line" - New 5-part series for Claremorris Community Radio

"The Thin Line" is the new 5-part radio series examining the issues of suicide and depression on Claremorris Community Radio.

Starting this Saturday November 12th at 2pm, the series collaborates with counsellors, therapists and those affected by suicide.

Presented by Janet Corbin-Hinchion, the series will be aired over the next five Saturdays on Claremorris Community Radio 94.6fm.

Volunteer Induction Day at Claremorris Community Radio

Have you ever wanted to work in radio? Well now you can!

Claremorris Community Radio will be hosting an induction session for all new volunteers on Saturday November 12th at 3pm.

Whether you're interested in being in front of the mic or behind the scenes, Claremorris Community Radio wants you to get involved!

For all you need to know about community radio, media legalities and how to get started, this is the perfect introduction to the world of media and radio broadcasting.

It is FREE of charge and everyone is welcome to attend the induction.

Interested volunteers are advised to email gordon@claremorriscommunityradio.ie before November 12th. You may also drop into the studio on the day if you wish!

2012 Claremorris Community Radio Calendar Launch

2012 Claremorris Community Radio Calendar to launch Friday November 18th.

The new calendar will be launched at the radio station by John O'Mahony and will be on sale during the lead up to the Christmas period.



All proceeds from sales of the calendars will go towards Claremorris Community Radio station.

Claremorris Community Radio Volunteer Noírín Gannon nominated for "Charity Hero" Award.

Congratulations to Claremorris Community Radio volunteer Noírín Gannon who has been nominated for a "Charity Hero" Award!


Originally from Achill, Co. Mayo, two time cancer survivor Noirin has always, through many volunteer and fundraising projects, worked to promote a more just and fair society with community values at it's core. Organizing and supporting various events, Noirin has raised tens of thousands of euro for various causes, some of which are very close to her heart. From the elderly, homeless, cancer patients and young people, she has worked with some of the most vulnerable sections of society in her community development work.


Since joining Claremorris Community Radio 18 months ago, Noirin has presented a weekly bi-lingual show in which she promotes local charitable and community events. She has often shared her own story of her battles with cancer on air and has promoted many fundraising events throughout Mayo.
